Busta Rhymes Sings Burna Boy’s Praises
American rap icon Busta Rhymes is raving about his experience of working with his Nigerian counterpart, Burna Boy.
Busta Rhymes – who is privately known as Trevor Smith – sat down for an interview on the Capital Xtra Podcast on Sunday, 26 November. Smith chatted about his newly released album, “Blockbusta”, as well as the artists who contributed to it.
Burna Boy – who is known as Damini Ogulu to his friends and family – worked with Smith on the fiery single, “Roboshotta”, which was produced by Pharrell Williams.
“Working with Burna Boy was one of the most incredible experiences I had in my life. Because he’s fast, efficient and very clear,” Smith said proudly during the interview, before adding: “When he knows what he’s gonna do, he ain’t wasting no time. And he’s super dangerously cold with it.”
As Smith worked with a selection of major international musicians on the album – including Young Thug, Quavo, T-Pain, Chris Brown and more – many fans of Ogulu are particularly proud that he was singled out for praise.
